전남 여수 신기동에서 50대 여성이 괴한으로부터 흉기 피습을 당해 경찰이 수사에 나섰다.

12일 여수경찰서에 따르면 전날 오후 9시 25분께 신기동 한 아파트 앞에서 주민 A씨(57)가 남성에게서 가슴과 팔 등 흉기에 찔렸다는 신고가 접수됐다.

경찰은 A씨가 상해를 입었지만 의식을 잃지 않고 스스로 119구조대에 도움을 요청했다고 전했다.

하지만 A씨는 병원으로 옮겨져 치료를 받던 중 상태가 악화돼 생명이 위독한 것으로 알려졌다.

경찰관계자는 "사건현장 주변 폐쇄회로(CC)TV 분석 등을 통해 용의자의 신원과 행방을 추적하고 있다"고 밝혔다.
